I am a registered nurse and have been HIV+ for eleven years. During that time, my T4 lymphocytes have gradually but continually declined, from around 600 to a low of 302 in August of 1995. In October of 1996, I began seeing an acupuncturist on a bi-weekly basis. In December I began classes in Soaring Crane Qigong and practiced daily until August of 1996 when I attended my first Chi-Lel Qigong workshop. During the weekend workshop it was immediately apparent that Chi Lel was a much more physically demanding practice than the prior form of Qigong I had been using. After the workshop, I began practicing "Lift Chi Up and Pour Chi Down" twice a day. In the week that followed, I remember feeling very energetic and unbelievably alive all over my body. Two weeks later, my acupuncturist told me my pulses were greatly improved. After four weeks of practice he told me I could decrease my visits to once a month. In July of 1996, my viral load was 74,000 copies and my T4 lymphocytes were 478. They have been gradually rising ever since I started the acupuncture and soaring crane Qigong. When my doctor received results of my lab work in September of this year, after a month of practicing Chi Lel, he had the tests redrawn to be sure there was no mistake. The second round of tests were the same as the first. All blood counts and blood chemistry had returned to 'normal' ranges. My T4 lymphocytes had risen to 543. At the end of September, viral load testing was again ordered. It had decreased to 34,000! It should be noted that I have made no medication or life style changes in the past eighteen months, other than the addition of Qigong and acupuncture. However, it was only after the addition of Chi-Lel Qigong that my viral load decreased approximately 50%. T4 lymphocytes jumped more dramatically than ever, all other lab values returned to normal, and my pulse diagnosis improved dramatically. Above all, I cannot remember having felt better physically or psychologically
